PostSubject: Macro fun! [Warning : Pretty Bugs!]   Sat May 23, 2009 9:26 am

I love macro, these shots are OK only when compared to those who are really really good @ taking macro pictures. However, these are my best i can do at this moment. I hope to shoot better in the future! Please feel free to comment!

Let me start of with the best i can offer at the moment

Fly

180mm, Raynox 250, F16, Flash, 1/125s Please click on the picture to see the full size, you can observe its compound eyes.

Moth

75mm, Raynox 250, F20, Flash, 1/80s I only managed to take one shot before it flew away, so the framing is a bit off.

Jumping Spider

210mm, Raynox 250, F18, Flash, 1/80s Focus is on its "face" and eyes.

Yellow fly

210mm, F8, Flash, 1/125s I think its a really pretty fly, you wouldn't find these in your house!

Grasshopper

210mm, F11, Flash, 1/80s Not much to comment except the eyes are very clear.

First 3 pictures are taken with a Close up filter called Raynox 250 which i just obtained recently. Enchantedreams would know :p
Feel free to comment!

Hehe, i THINK the fly was asleep! When i put on my Raynox 250, my focusing distance is around 6 inches, so my lens was only 6 inches away from the subjects!

Its really good. The raynox is damn good. Now thinking of getting it. What settings did you use for the colours and was there any post processing?

Where did you find such wonderful subjects? lol

Ohhh Note: Moth is spelled without an R...lol

Thx for spotting my mistake!

Yes, i take with Raw, use Adobe Photoshop Raw to post process my pictures. I always add a bit of contrast and saturation to make it look nice... aka fake colors :p

They're found in bushes! those were taken @ a row of bushes outside of Chinese Gardens MRT...
